Subscriptions

Subscriptions are Recurring Offers where a customer is charged based on a schedule as defined on the Offer.

Subscriptions Defined

A subscription is a recurring payment agreement between a customer and a business that provides ongoing access to a product, service, or content for a specified period of time. With a subscription, the customer typically pays a regular fee at fixed intervals, such as weekly, monthly, or annually, in exchange for continued access to the product or service.

Many subscription services also offer additional perks, such as Subscribe & save and early access to new products or exclusive content.

Recurring Subscriptions

A recurring offer will bill and schedule the next billing, ongoing until a customer cancels. An offer is used to determine when the next charge will occur and when/if a shipment should be scheduled.

Subscriptions can be a standard recurring model, where a charge will trigger a shipment until cancelled.

Subscriptions can also be in the form of prepaid, where a single charge will schedule X shipments to be shipped during certain intervals.

Prepaid Subscriptions

A Prepaid Subscriptions is a recurring subscription where a customer pays for access to a product or service in advance for a specified period, often receiving a discounted rate. The subscription remains active until the prepaid duration expires, at which point the customer can choose to renew or discontinue the service.

If the product is shippable, the customer will pay for multiple shipments of that product at once. Within Vrio you can configure Multiple Shipments logic to determine how many shipments go out for that charge, and at what intervals.
